Terry Gomes: Gomesongs

Many people find this song humourous and wish there were more like
it. Although it does have something to
say about those who defraud our social system, it was solely intended to pay homage
to one of my favourite West Indian songs, "Shame and Scandal,"
originally written by legendary Trinidadian singer, Sir Lancelot. Growing up in a West Indian culture, I listened to a lot of calypso music from the 1950s-70s. In paying homage, I tried to capture the mood, attitudes and feelings of the music I enjoyed as a child.
